Praise the Lord
(Psalm 135: 1-7)

1. Praise the LORD! Praise the name of the LORD;
O praise Him, you ser-vants of the LORD! (of the LORD!)
You who stand in the house of the LORD,
And in courts of the house of our God.

2. Praise the LORD, for the LORD, He is good;
'Tis pleas-ant to sing praise to His name, (to His name,)
For the Lord chose Ja-cob for Him-self,
His spec-ial treas-ure is Is-ra-el.

3. Praise the LORD, He does what he pleas-es,
In heav-en and in earth, all pla-ces. (all pla-ces.)
For He makes the va-pors to as-cend,
And He makes the light-ning, rain and wind.

4. I know that the LORD is a great God,
And our Lord is a-bove oth-er gods. (oth-er gods.)
Praise the LORD! Praise the name of the LORD;
O praise Him, you ser-vants of the LORD!

NOTES: After several months of trying to find a
melody that fit the 3x3 9.9.9.9 meter, and the words without
being overly dramatic, I went with the classical royal fanfare
type of melody and harmony. This is a good song of praise
that lets one really sing out about the LORD. Updated 2-2001
