A Joyful Noise
(Psalm 100)
Make a joy-ful noise un-to the Lord, All ye lands.
Praise the Lord with glad-ness and with song, All ye lands!
Know ye that the Lord is God, and we are His peo-ple.
En-ter in His gates with thanks-giv-ing,
and in-to His courts with praise.
Give thanks un-to Him and praise His name,
and your voice un-to Him raise!
(no bass) For the Lord is good His mer-cy ev-er-last-ting,
And His truth to all gen-er-a-tions en-dur-ing.
(bass joins) For the Lord is good His mer-cy ev-er-last-ting,
And His truth to all gen-er-a-tions en-dur-ing.
Make a joy-ful noise un-to the Lord, All ye lands.
Praise the Lord with glad-ness and with song, All ye lands!
Make a joy-ful noise, Sing a joy-ful word.
Make a joy-ful noise. Sing un-to the Lord!!!

NOTES: It is a joyful fanfare of Psalm 100, but doesn't
really have a 'melody'. It is in 4-8 parts and most of the
movement is in the bass and alto parts. I wrote this while a
Junior in High School. A slightly modified version was
performed by the Freed-Hardeman University A Cappella Chorus
in 1992 while one of my sisters was in the group. It was
usually used to open the second half of their concerts.
They recorded it on their tape. (I just revised the middle section in Aug. 2000 to make the printed & sang version the same.)
This is only "congregational hard" song in the book.
