In His Memory
w: Robert A. Sharpe, w&m: Paul Springer

1. Je-sus gave his life-blood up-on cruel Cal-va-ry,
To pur-chase our ran-som, and the sin-ner set free,
But, be-fore our Lord did suf-fer, he pre-pared us a feast,
And said, that you do this, "in my mem-o-ry."

[chorus] "As oft as you do this in my mem-o-ry,"
were the words of the Sav-ior, prov-ing his love for me,
Now when we come to-ge-ther to par-take of this feast,
We should al-ways do it, in His mem-o-ry.

2. Our Lord is now seat-ed at the Fa-ther's right hand,
to in-ter-cede dai-ly with the Fa-ther and man.
Now when we dis-cern His bo-dy, we re-mem-ber his plea,
"As oft as you do this, in my mem-o-ry."

3. Our Lord is re-turn-ing in the clouds some sweet day,
To gath-er his child-ren, on to heav-en's bright way!
So, as we now wait and wor-ship, by faith we hear him say,
"As oft as you do this, in my mem-o-ry."

NOTES: The idea and words of this song were written
mostly by Bro. Robert A. Sharpe, from Glendale, TN. I just
cleaned them up and rearranged them some. He gave me the basic
melody, and I fit it to the words and added the harmony.
I hope to work with him some more.
