Serving Them Each Day
w: Carl Hardeman, m: Paul Springer

1. The needs of the world grow great-er each day,
Re-lief for the poor we con-tin-u'l-ly pray,
We're not do-ing his work if we're con-tent to just pray,
We must be His feet, serv-ing them each day.

2. The lone-ly and weak are suf-f'ring each day,
Com-fort for the sick we con-tin-u'l-ly pray,
We can-not stay at home and be con-tent to just pray,
We must be His hands, serv-ing them each day.

3. The lost of the world are dy-ing each day,
Sal-va.tion for their souls we con-tin-u'l-ly pray,
We can't sit in the church and be con-tent to just pray,
We must be His voice, serv-ing them each day.

4. The chris-tians on earth grow strong-er each day,
To be more like Christ we con-tin-u'l-ly pray,
We must shine in the world, and not con-tent to just pray,
We must be like Him, serv-ing them each day.

NOTES:The second song Carl brought to me. The idea,
mainly from James 2, is that we can sit and talk, and even
pray (which we should do) about the bad and terrible problems
and sin in the world, but at some point, WE must do something
about it - just like Jesus did. The church and Christians
are to serve the world while we are here. . .
I tweaked it and set it to music in December 1999.
